Tip #1 - How to display functions and formulas in a worksheet:

Press Ctrl+~ (all versions)

Spreadsheets by their very nature are poorly documented. Go back to your spreadsheet a week or a month from now and try to figure out what you did and why you did it. The tip above will display all of the functions and formulas in the worksheet. Print them out with column and row headings and you will be able to make a lot more sense out of =$B$1*C1. Also learn to use range names.

Tip #2 - How to quickly hide cells:

Choose Font Color White

Assuming that you have a white background, white on white is invisible.

Tip #3 - Enter today's date into a cell:

Press Ctrl+;
